Canvas, a learning management system used by many high schools and universities, was hacked on May 1 of this year. The agency who hacked them had reportedly affected up to 275 million students around the world, which is equivalent to the entire country of Indonesia. Some people were relieved, but a lot of people were upset.
This made me think about the book of Acts and how people reacted to the Word of God being presented to them.
In Acts 2, Peter had spoken about Jesus being crucified, bringing more than 3,000 souls becoming baptized.
Acts 7, Stephen brings the Jews a lesson that brings them through the story of Moses and the Jewish people, but the people were “cut to the quick” in verse 54.
The word of God speaks in different ways, through our phones, reading the Bible, or having conversations with friends. Sometimes, it is going to encourage us, and other times it is not going to be nice to us.
Luke 9:22-27 talks about denying ourselves, but that there are people who are going to taste death if they do not obey the Word of God.
How are you going to react to the Word of God today?
